Hank Roberts Mini Stove

Stove on the left is the Mark II previously shown. The stove on the right is a Mark III with an improvised fuel hos adapter. An M6 X 0.75 threaded stem has been secured to the original canister adapter needle with Loctite. A square rubber sealing ring has been added between the adapter and the stove body to improve the seal.

The simplest adapter is made from a piece of 6mm OD brass. It has an M6X.75 thread on one end and has a hole drilled through it that will just slip over the stem of the original fuel can adapter. The threaded adapter is secured to the original with a drop of Loctite 609 or 681. If you want to take the threaded adapter off, you heat it to 400 Deg. F. and the Loctite will melt. The other adapter is made from a piece of 1/2" Hex Brass stock. One end is threaded M6X.75 and the other is turned down and threaded 7/16" - 28. It has a 3/32" hole through it, but the 7/16" end is opened up to take a porous metal filter, like the original. I have had the burner orifice plug when not using a filter and it is not easy to clean.
