PACIFIC PALISADES — In yet another masterclass of visionary governance, California Gov. Gavin Newsom confirmed Tuesday that the nearly one billion dollars a day American taxpayers are shelling out for U.S. strikes in the ongoing Iran war could have rebuilt exactly zero homes in the fire-ravaged Pacific Palisades.
“Folks, the math doesn’t lie,” Newsom beamed, flashing his signature million-dollar grin while gesturing at the charred skeletons of over 6,800 structures still standing untouched more than fourteen months after the devastating January 2025 Palisades Fire. “We’re talking serious money here—enough to fund my administration’s record-setting ‘Zero Homes Rebuilt’ initiative for months on end. Iran’s getting the full treatment, and the Palisades? They’re getting the same world-class recovery they’ve come to love from me: zero actual homes, zero urgency, and zero apologies. That’s California leadership!”
Local residents, many still camping in tents or RVs since the fire ignited on January 7, 2025, reportedly erupted in thunderous applause. “Finally, a governor who over-promises and under-delivers exactly as advertised,” said one teary-eyed homeowner. “We’ve got executive orders, AI permitting tools, and photo-ops galore—yet somehow, still zero roofs over our heads. Inspirational!”
Newsom’s office later clarified that any hypothetical leftover funds would be redirected to far more pressing matters, such as additional climate studies, banning gas stoves in burned-out zones, and commissioning yet another report on why the high-speed rail to nowhere remains nowhere.
