California taxpayers have already poured more than $16 billion into the so-called “bullet train to nowhere,” and yet not a single finished track is operational.
The high-speed rail was supposed to connect Los Angeles and San Francisco, but after more than a decade, it is still stuck in delays, lawsuits, and bureaucratic gridlock.
Billions have disappeared into consulting fees, environmental studies, inflated salaries, and land grabs, while the public has been left with nothing to ride.
The original $33 billion estimate has now ballooned past $100 billion, with even the scaled-back Central Valley portion still incomplete.
Meanwhile, Governor Gavin Newsom has quietly purchased a massive $9.1 million mansion, raising serious questions about where the money really goes and who is profiting from California’s endless spending.
This fiasco is now a symbol of corruption, mismanagement, and taxpayer betrayal on a scale the nation has rarely seen.
