Melkote is an ancient temple town in Karnataka India. It has 2 Very Sacred Temples- the Cheluva Narayana Temple (12 Century) and the Narasimha Temple(Hill Fort Temple) and 2 Sacred Tanks - The Pushkarni (Sacred Pond) and a pair of Tanks known as the Akka Thangi Kola.
Page One -- Cheluva Narayana Temple (12th Century). Figures must have been in Colour at one time like the Sri Meenakshi Temple at Madurai- Sadly vandalised by invading forces some time later.
