Kuta Beach is the main tourist beach on the west coast of Bali. You can rent 2 chairs with an umbrella for $2 a day, you can also rent a surfboard, get a massage, manicure, pedicure, or have someone bring you a beer on the beach. The water is warm, the waves were gentle when I was there - nice for beginning surfers. There are lots of vendors selling everything...depending on your outlook, this can be a nuisance or a delight...talk to these people, they are interesting.
