Lone survivor of house collapse on Paisley Court

Edinburgh

Heave awa' chaps. I'm no' dead yet.
is one of Edinburgh's most famous historical quotes.
It was shouted by 12-year-old Joseph McIvor, who was trapped under the rubble after the 1861 Paisley Close tenement collapse.
Today, you can see his carved bust and the phrase above the entrance on the Royal Mile.
