This restaurant is located in one of Ambleside's oldest buildings
dating back to troubled times during the persecution of Catholic clergy.
Priests would have to be able to go into hiding at short notice,
which explains the term 'priest hole', usually an opening in the floorboards
where the priest would be able to disappear.
