Secluded in the woods the castle as it stands now, in Neo-Renaissance style, dates back to the 1880s.
Various families have lived in it and it is still private property, having changed hands a number of times.
It has been uninhabited for a number of decades now and is threatening to fall into disrepair.
There are plans, however, to carry out restoration work and eventually to turn it into a hotel.
