This female American Bald Eagle was with her mate eating a a seal carcass when I arrived, but were below the guard rail, out of sight as I approached. So they fled the spot when they saw me. She went to the nearby pilings for a few minutes, allowing me to photograph her closer than ever before. They never returned to their prey and it sunk with several incoming tides.
