My sister Monika and her boyfriend Carsten, who are visiting from Germany, are both active in the volunteer fire department back home. Today, we toured with them "The Big House" of the San Diego Fire Department in downtown San Diego (1st Ave. and B Street). Captain Patricia Stone was extremely nice in showing us around for almost an hour.
On a technical note, the images in this gallery were shot without flash (never use flash on all that reflective stuff on fire trucks) with ISO settings between 800 and 3200. Even the ISO 3200 images are perfectly usable. No noise reduction has been applied, the images have just been resized for the Web.
