Ok, so here's the setup. Just a thick glass plate between you and the lions. A polarizing filter is used to reduce reflections. However, it works perfectly only under precisely the correct angle. Here, the angle was a little off, so not all the reflections are completely removed. Oh well. At least it serves to illustrate the presence of the glass.
