I haven't done extensive testing yet, but so far it seems to be quite decent. On the obligatory brick wall test, it looks like it's not quite tack sharp until about f/5.6, but it's not bad even wide open at f/2.8. As pointed out by for more thorough tests elsewhere on the web, it does vignette quite a bit at f/2.8, but that's easily corrected in post-processing. At $150 to $200, it definitely seems to be worth its asking price. The main thing, of course, is its compactness, and it sure is unique in the Canon line up in that regard.

Nice and compact and not expensive, but not really a quality lens.
