This cabin (circa 1822) is an example of the houses built by early settlers in Texas. This one is located in Independence TX and is maintained as part of a historical exhibit of early life in Texas. The House was commonly referred to as a "Dog Trot House" common throughout the Southeastern US from 1800 to 1900.
