For this shot I used the "super-macro" mode of the Oly c770 which allows you to get this close, but you have to move the camera within 1.2 inches from the subject. Luckly the bee was moving pretty slowly, and I didn't have to fear reprisals Lol! The image has been cropped to about 80% of it's original size. I have recently received an Olympus B-Macro lens which allows you to get an image like the above, but do it from 12 inches away (much safer!).

this is a very nice macro.
may i ask...did you use a close up filter or other attatchment
or did the camera get this close on it's own?
