Max Patch Mountain

Max Patch is one of those places that you just have to visit. It's maintained by the forest service as a bald and is a big grassy area. The Appalachian Trail traverses the top of Max Patch and a walk around the top perimeter will give you a clear view in any direction. I've been several times and will continue to go back. Here's a bit of what I've seen.

We just visited Max Patch Mountain for the first time. It was every bit as spectacular as your photos show. I would love to see it in snow, someday like you did. Wow! Thanks for posting your photos.

This is about as close to heaven as you can get.We always enjoy our trips from ky to max patch and hot springs,great people and very very humbling sights.

Thank you, thank you, Rich. These are beautiful!! We are planning a trip up to Sapphire hopefully within about a week and a half and are praying that the colors won't disappear before we get there. Thanks again for sharing all this beauty.
