The hike to Bar Island was on our list and today was a good day for it. The island can only be accessed during low tide when a gravel bar between Bar Harbor and Bar Island is exposed. We wanted to do it when low tide was early in the day - and that was today. Since we were going to be in Bar Harbor anyway, we got up early and headed to the pier for a sunrise.
