We arrived at 8am just as the gardens were opening. There is a charge to get in, but the nice lady taking the money informed us that tickets are half price from 8-9 am. The road past the ticket booth meanders through an orange grove before arriving at the parking area. The planters outside the garden entrance were filled with colorful annuals. I'm guessing the varieties change as the season progresses.
