The hike is a nice one with the trail meandering through the forest. With the leaves off the trees, one can catch some decent views along parts of the trail, but the mid day winter sun also comes in from the view side which isn't good for photos. I didn't get the camera out until we got the the viewing deck. It's a very solid deck, but the view of the falls just doesn't compare with the one from the old deck. This shot was taken zoomed to 80mm. We hung around the deck long enough to luck out with some clouds covering the sun just long enough to snap off some shots. Late morning winter sun is above the falls and the cloud cover helped to even out the light.
