We decided to check out the trail hoping that some birds would choose to be where most of the people weren't. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case and we turned around after less than 1/2 a mile. There were other areas of the refuge we wanted to check out also. I should have switched lenses to get a wider shot of the area, but kept the longer one on just in case.
