September 11 - Upper Creek Falls

Today's forecast called for some much needed rain moving in to the area by the afternoon. I figured I'd be able to get a hike in before the rain - but where to go. My first thought was the Franklin area to reshoot Rufus Morgan Falls and a few others, but the early morning radar showed the rain moving in earlier than predicted. The rain was moving in from west to east, so I changed plans and headed east towards the Wilson Creek area. Upper Creek Falls off of Hwy 181 has also been on my list to reshoot, so I headed there first. A light rain began to fall as I got to the parking area, but that's not a bad thing for photography. I've been complaining about shooting conditions being too sunny lately, so this was actually a welcome relief. Just had to remember to bring the umbrella.

The trail to the upper falls on Upper Creek comes out at the top of the falls, seen here. The rock was now wet and very slippery in places, but wet rock shoots better than dry rock as long as you use a polarizing filter to cut the glare.
