waterfall on Brooks Creek 1

I remembered a nearby waterfall mentioned in Kevin Adams' book that Harry and I had stopped at a couple of years ago. At that time it was raining hard and I only got a chance to snap a couple from the road. Kevin's directions are from Picklesimer, but here they are from Highlands. Take Hwy 28 from the stop light at Hwy 64 in the center of town. Drive 2 miles and turn right on Clear Creek Rd. Drive 1.2 miles on Clear Creek and turn right on the unmarked gravel road FR367. It's the 1st right after a hairpin turn on Clear Creek. Drive down this gravel road 2.3 miles and the waterfall is on the right. It's very visible from the road - a small path leads down for a better view. You can thank my co-pilot Cindy for taking notes while I was driving :) If you keep going past the waterfall for another 2.4 miles, FR367 ends at FR79. Turning left will go back to Hwy 28, turn right and drive 2 miles to the gated road on the right that goes to Picklesimer. Walk that road a little over 1/4 mile to a wildlife clearing, keep going a short distance farther to a creek, then take the path to the right up the creek to the waterfall.
