A few weeks back I mentioned I had met a very nice lady on my Cades Cove camping trip. We hit it off right away and had a great time shooting, chatting, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We had such a good time that we decided to get together again this week end for a couple more days of the same. Today we didn't meet until mid afternoon. We headed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway near the Pisgah Inn and continued on to Skinny Dip Falls around MP417. The sun was right on the waterfall and really harsh, so I didn't take any pictures. Instead we spent the time sitting on the rocks, catching up, and enjoying the cool breeze that was coming off of the waterfall. She came up from 100 degree weather and it's been abnormally hot in this area also, so the breeze was very welcome.

The final destination was the Art Loeb Trail and up to Black Balsam Knob for a sunset. Parking for the trail head is about 1/2 a mile up Black Balsam Rd just south of Graveyard Fields. The first view looking west comes about half way up. There weren't many clouds for a spectacular type of sunset, but you never know what Mother Nature has in store for those who take the time to find out. As someone semi-famous once said - 'you don't know if you don't go!'
