As I mentioned, once the trail ends at the river, cross and get up on the road that parallels the river. Head to the left and in a very short distance you will hear the waterfall up through the trees. Once the leaves come back, it may be harder to spot. We actually started hearing the falls once we crossed the high point and began heading down towards the river. To get a closer view, you'll have to scramble up the left side of the creek. JC and Jack are up at the base of the falls for perspective so you can see it's a very significant drop. The SCDNR web site doesn't mention either one of the falls for some reason.
