A year or 2 ago I stumbled on some info about a place in upstate SC that was being preserved - the Nine Time tract. Upstate Forever and the Nature Conservancy were working to save this ecologically diverse area from development. Not much info was available at the time. A couple of weeks ago I searched again and lo and behold, lots more info. Google 'Nine Times Tract' and 'Nine Times Preserve' to see for yourself.
So Sunday I decided to come home via Hwy 11 in SC to check this area out. I figured it was still early for wildflower blooms, but I was hoping for some foliage I could ID. When I got to the 1st area I wanted to inspect, trout lily was in abundance. Most blooms hadn't opened yet, as in this shot.
