Elmo's Falls 1

Harry and Liza wanted a laid back day on Saturday, so I got up with Bernie so he could show me his new finds. This first one is in the Pisgah National Forest. The only problem is that the only reasonable ways in require crossing private property. It's actually on the same creek as Stillhouse Falls which is on Fork Creek. Locals refer to the creek as Laurel Fork Creek. Down stream from Stillhouse Falls, the creek descends into a deep gorge surrounded by high rock wall. This waterfall is the final plunge before the creek levels out. It doesn't have an official name - the locals may have one - so I named it Elmo's falls in honor of the late husband of this very nice lady that allowed us to cross her property.
