The Asheville area has been hurting for a good widespread snowfall for quite some time. The higher elevations have been doing OK and today's forecast again called for 1-3" in the higher elevations along the NC/TN border. Temps in the lower 20's and teens and windy conditions weren't going to make being out really pleasant, but I was jonesin' for some snow. I packed my gear and headed west on I-40 towards the Tennessee border. First stop was the Big Creek area of the Smokies and I was pleased to find 1-3" of the fluffy stuff once I closed in on the Park.
