Next on the list for today was the plunge from Doe Branch into Bonas Defeat Gorge. We had done a nearby creek - Slickens Creek - a couple of weeks ago and found some areas of beautiful waterfall. Bernie had scouted another way in to Doe Branch and took us to where he parked on FR4662 to begin. To make a long story short, we made it to the section of the creek that should have had falling water - and it did. Too bad it was covered with fallen trees and forest debris. I didn't take any pictures. Doe Branch empties into the gorge just above Bonas Defeat wall pictured here. Legend has it that Bonas the huntin' dog chased a deer over the 400' drop. Problem is he didn't stop either :(
