The front yard was a jungle when we moved in. We did a lot of thinning and ivy pulling over the first couple of years, then followed that up with some redesigning. We were fairly happy with what we had, but then in late 2018 our septic system began to fail. It was the original system, so was about 60 years old. When the health inspector came out, he informed us that the new drain field would have to be in the front yard, which meant all of the landscaping had to be removed - including the huge magnolia tree. The new septic system was installed in early February 2019 and now we get to put our front yard back together from scratch.
