Alhamdolillah (Hebrew: Hallelujah, English: Praise to Allah) no one got hurt...
About 2115 hrs Pakistan Standard Time, 21 July 2006
No, it wasn't my fault, the other guy who was coming from the opposite side was taking a right turn, he was waiting until I arrived, he thought I'll stop because there was another car ahead of me that was turning somewhere... so at the last moment he took the right turn and his turn wasn't completed when I hit him... I was in my own track...
Yes, I was fast (60+ I guess?)...
Yes, all my friends and relatives were right, if I was driving slowly (maybe 30km/h), it might have been avoided, but still if he had come in another 3 seconds later, it still would've been a crash... Well I'd say that if I had not been on the road (or the other person had not been on the road), the accident might not have happened...
The other car was a Civic (96-98), my car hit him near the back door (his left side), my car turned 90' left after the impact, and the Civic guy tried to run away first, then turned his car at the front of a nearby house that I could see... I think his tyre was flattened or something... Then his friends/cousins/whatever also arrived at the scene... and they were like, "This is not a highway, you should have stopped because he was turning..." :) Let me see... I think the driving manual would suggest otherwise, that the person who's going straight on a main road has the right of way, and the one who's turning right to a smaller road has to wait until the upcoming traffic clears, and then take the turn... At least that's what I read in Pakistan's driving book, and it wasn't in contradiction with the DMV manual of Virginia State :) http://www.dmv.state.va.us/ I think it's safe to say that these laws are universal, or at least global :)
Then his friend/cousin/whatever talked to him in private and then came back with a proposal that we should take care of our own damage on our own...
The car was then towed back home by a Nissan Sunny... (Sunny = Sentra in USA) The left tyre was contantly touching some part of the body, but we decided to drag it any way (coz the tyre wasn't a "brand new" tyre any way) coz we didn't want to leave the car on the roadside...
Have I learned a lesson? Not sure about it yet... I think I want a stronger car now for vengeance :D
this is twic in one day you have brought a smile to my face... the first on your trip to your County's Northern Mountains with your friends, now this one .... the guy turn if front of you and it's your fault... some things are univeral and the guy that pulled in front of you would be wrong, even if he were on the Planet Mars
