There are several things that draw me to this image - One is the complexity in its utter simplicity, it tells much of a combining of cultures - it holds the traditional Christmas colors while quite clearly it is not taken in the West. I don't know why I know that, I just do. I also love the girls interest, and concentration on the discarded. We used to say that we didn't need to get out kids presents they were happy with the cardboard boxes the presents came in. Here she is delighted with the confetti on the ground. This image touches my heart.

I like the static electricity at the balloon catching up the colorful piezes. This girl its deeply concentrated on collecting piezes and unaware of the photo. Very good capture!!! Merry Christmas Beijing !!!
