A spectacular abstraction, Shirley. I love the design of the image, too -- it is very Chinese. I made a similar image in China, (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/58750578 ) -- it tells the story of tourism and shopping, while yours is an elegantly abstracted gesture of welcome in a traditional Chinese context. Similar subjects, but different stories and different approaches.
