A Yellow Slipper

Woodstock, VT

This is one of the very first Yellow Lady Slippers I have ever seen in person. They are native to Vermont whereas the Pink Lady Slipper is native to Massachusetts. There is only a 100 mile or so difference in their environment yet the yellow species isn't to be found anywhere around where I live.
