Nestled amidst the lush trees and ruins of the Ancient Agora in Athens, the remarkably well-preserved Temple of Hephaestus stands out against the modern cityscape viewed from the Acropolis. Construction of the Temple of Hephaestus began around 449 BCE, during the Golden Age of Athens as part of Pericles' grand building program, and it was completed around 415 BCE.
