Kirschgarten (Cherry Orchard) square in the Old Town (Altstadt) Mainz. The large timber-framed structure slightly to the left is the Haus zum Aschaffenberg (House on the Aschaffenberg). Built around 1500 (with roots linked to late-Gothic architecture), it is documented as the oldest surviving half-timbered house in Mainz.
