At an elevation of 920 meters or 3,018 feet, the summit of Unpenji mountain straddles between Kagawa and Tokushima Prefectures. The Unpeji Buddhist temple at the summit is the 66th temple along the Shikoku's 88-temple pilgrimage route and is also the highest point of the pilgrimage. An observation town is also located at the summit with large statue on top.
