Hangzhou 2007

Hangzhou is located at the eastern part of China on the plain of the Yangtze River delta. It is about 100 miles to the southwest of Shanghai. It was the capital city during the Southern Song Dynasty in the 12th century. During that period, it was the center of chinese culture and literature.

When Macro Polo visited Hangzhou in late 13th century, he noted that the city as "the finest and the noblest in the world".

Hangzhou is also well known for its beautiful scenery. Much of the credits go to West Lake, which is the center of the vast majority of the historic and cultural attractions.
