This scene by my Dad describes a human condition with which I am very familiar. In 1970, I arrived at a remote location in Alaska and was promptly told that one could know which of the troops had been there the longest. How, I said? The answer was that the longer someone was there, the crazier they acted! Well, before the year was out, I had to agree. Ha!
