Rockefeller Center

     
Rockefeller Center, an iconic complex of 19 commercial buildings in midtown Manhattan was built by the Rockefeller family from 1930 to 1933. It is located between 48th and 51st streets, spanning the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue. Fourteen of the buildings were constructed in the Art Deco style.

It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987.

Bill, Thanks for providing the link to these photos of Rockefeller Center. It's defiantly an impressive place with many beautiful details. I spent quite a bit of time there, not only because I worked nearby, but we lived on 5th Av., between 76th and 77th, and my wife and daughter like to spend time there too.

I had been to NYC several times before we moved there and I wasn't too excited about living there. But I learned an important lesson: NYC is not such a nice place to visit, because one is usually in a hurry to see everything, and we go to many of the worst places. But, it's it's naturally a nice place to live. I learned it's a neighborhood town, and once you get to know them and they get to know you, the people are nice, too.
