Not all nostalgia is charming: Chicken a Go Go

My first year in Chicago I got my dinner many times from Chicken a Go go.
This corner joint was was just around the block from my graduate student dormitory under the IC tracks.
The fried chicken was very good but their specialty was Italian (pronounced Eye-tal-yan) Beef.
It burned down from a grease fire during my third year in Chicago

I think you have fond memories from this little eatery, William. Shame it burned down! V

a no frills joint...even the name dates the business...intriguing to savour the lookback..

Great documentary shot, especially now that it's gone.

It’s charming in its own way. Everything now is too polished. I love the grit. V

I think it's kind of charming. It shows a less showy part of Chicago in all its gritty reality which looks fantastic, at least to me, in your always stellar B&W work. I remember having places just like this deliver to us when I was a kid in the 60's here in the Denver area. ~BV~
