Birches are ubiquitous in the woods outside of Moscow.
In Moscow center they can be found in the Alexsandrovskii Park
which flanks the northern wall of the Kremlin. The park was commissioned
by Czar Alexander I after the Napoleonic wars. The eastern end contains
the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Eternal Flame.
