The slippery slope into katai-gorod

The Russian Orthodox church is Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan.
It was completely rebuilt (1990–1993) from detailed measurements and plans after having been destroyed by Stalin.
The renowned Gum department store is at the right.

I'm sure I would love the architecture there. Beautiful church and capture of it. Is that department store still open?
