Confused? The whiteness in that picture is the deck of clouds below me. We were miles above sea level when my brother snapped this shot of me on the edge of a several hundred meter dropoff. This was near the highest we would climb in the Alps rimming Innsbruck before sense kicked in. As my brother put it, "Had he rolled over either direction, I would never have seen him again." We left our climbing sticks wedged between rocks at the highest point we would reach. My name is carved in one of them.
