Towhees normally forage out of sight under dense shrubbery,
but it is spring and the male finds open perches to sing and await a mate.
Well, at least until he gets hungry.
He spent about ten minutes rather casually in the mateship thing. Shortly
after this shot, he flew up a hill and disappeared in a blooming patch
of mustard to hunt.
