One red feather is starting to emerge on its tail... I've rooted for this 'guy' for a year now. A banded release and quite (almost too) approachable, it has managed to go the winter season with success and is now becoming an adult...all by itself. In this shot, it was no more than 20 feet away hovering in the afternoon wind.
