Week 2
Mom's neighbors have these huge sunflowers growing right next to the street light.

I worked on stripping more wallpaper off the kitchen walls. It is amazing to see the varying colors of paint on the walls below...
While doing some on-line shopping for my trip, my laptop froze up on me--I could hear that it was still powered on but the screen went black--no blinking hard-drive light, nothing I did would make it respond. I tried everything I could think of to get it to unfreeze, but the only thing I could do in the end was power it off. I tried again a while later with the same results so I guess I'm going to have to make a trip in to work to get it looked at. Luckily the PC Services guy is there on Mondays.

OK, so I snuck into work to go see the PC Services guy about the problem with my laptop. Apparently the video cards on the T40's are notorious for going out due to how people hold their laptops--too much flexing and not enough clearance where the board is located causes fried circuits. Anyway he didn't have any spare T40's lying about so instead of just swapping out my hard drive into another chassis, he had to build me a completely new system. So I now have a T43 which I am hoping and praying will be as reliable and trouble-free as my T40 was for almost 4 years. While he worked on my new system, he plugged my hard drive into a loaner and I took care of some urgent personal email.

During the time I was having my new system built, I went over to my Mom's for a game of Monopoly with her and my nephew, James. Did I mention that this is the summer of games??? They were very much into the game--James REALLY wanted to win. It was kind of hard though as everyone held one or two pieces of property--no complete sets--and would not sell so we were kind of at a stalemate. I had had enough of that so I begged out early.

While on the way home from Mom's, I called Nora. She was starving so asked if I wanted to get something to eat. "Of course," I said. We went to La Carretta--twice--after a quick side trip to Bi-Mart to pick up my prescription. I had leftovers a couple nights later too.

This one is for Su Ling. To earn another point towards my Jazzercise bag, I got up on stage with Francine for the opening routine. Muzzy took the photo of us. I did two circuit classes this day--was I pooped!
Wednesday, July 12
No photo for today--I did a little grocery shopping but for the most part stayed home.

Today was my Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary, and my Mom wanted a photo of her and Dad together. So this is one attempt at that. Mom hasn't seen any of the photos so I don't know which one she'll pick.

After taking photos of Mom and Dad, I went home and went to body sculpting. When body sculpting was over I stayed for the grange meeting. Interesting initiation ceremony but I am now a full-fledged member of the Sunnyside Grange!

I had to pass through downtown on my way to the zoo late Friday afternoon. There was a sandcastle building contest going on in Pioneer Square.
