Hmmm... Condo/apt living is indeed an environmental friendlier kind of living. If I only had money to invest in its renovation (and the patience to deal with contractors)! Of course, if I were the enterprising type I would just borrow the money and put up with contractors.

In response to Mo's question, yes, the Yellowstone Hotel can be renovated. It is too bad that the owner withdrew from the upper-level housing project, which has produced the renovation of the nearby Whitman Hotel, which is now in progress. During the tour a year or so ago of the Old Town Pocatello opportunities for upper-level housing, several people asked about the possibility of buying condos in the Yellowstone Hotel. Perhaps there are more opportunities for making effective economic use of the building than the owner realizes.
