It was story of Apollo and Zeus, rather Apollo vs. Zeus. I never claimed to be praying kind but found myself at the altar of Apollo, pleading; at least to show himself at dawn and dusk. I guess so many years of not praying did not help. Then I realized that I was looking into classics, waiting for Ansel Adam like moment on the banks of Snake River at the foot of Tetons, which was never me. Thence came the revelation and exploration of dark and Gray.

One wonders in this cold and harsh place in Wyoming, richness and eccentricities of nature. There seem to be direct connections between the ancient microbes and 2000 pounds Bison, thousand degrees of hot magma and the snow above 11000 ft. We are in between these extremes. Still trying to make sense of it all. Do we have to? I kept asking myself. Is it the beauty of this place that compels us or the enigma, which may never be solved? I preferred the middle ground and decided not to seek the answer. Just out of respect for Apollo and Zeus both. In the end Zeus commanded Apollo to show up on last dawn of my trip. I was deeply humbled.
