The D&RG was the first RR to reach present-day Littleton, in 1871. The line was built by General William Palmer to connect Denver to his resort community of Colorado Springs. This stone depot was built in 1875. Service was discontinued in 1967. Although moved from its original location, in 1998 it began its new life...as a passenger station for the light rail system...a fitting rebirth!
