The temple dates to the 1300s. The temple was built by King Keu Na of Lanna for an important monk visiting from Sukhothai during the rains retreat. The name of the temple means "field of flowers." The ornate white-washed reliquaries house the cremated remains of the rulers of Chiang Mai. Doi Suthep is in the background, and you can make out Wat Phra That Doi Suthep near the peak.
