King Taksin was born in 1733 and, in 1765, came to Ayutthaya to help defend the capital. He fought valiantly and earned great recognition. After the razing of Ayutthaya, it was Taksin who reunited the nation and built his new capital at Thonburi. His ashes are interred here...maybe...depends on which legend you believe.
